United States Bartenders' Guild Has Landed on Long Island: A First in History!
National Bartending Guild on Long Island!
Big news from The Wolfsden — and an even bigger step for our community!!
After months of hard work and organizing efforts on behalf of myself and a small team of dedicated industry professionals, The United States Bartenders’ Guild has officially landed on Long Island for the first time in history!
I have been elected to serve as Chairperson for this new industry community, and, alongside our outstanding leadership council: Martin West II, and George Eldi, we are building an active network of bartenders, bar owners, hospitality workers, and industry enthusiasts across all of Long Island! Our mission is straighforward: Together, we are building a home for hospitality professionals, creatives, and cocktail enthusiasts who believe in elevating the craft, supporting one another, and raising the bar — literally and figuratively, through education, community, and National support.
In the months ahead, the United States Bartenders’ Guild- Long Island will begin its first membership drive, offering educational gatherings, cocktail competitions, and opportunities for network collaboration across the hospitality scene. It’s an exciting time — one that marks the beginning of something bigger than any single bar, brand, or personality. While The Wolfsden remains an independent creative project, I will continue to spotlight the people, places, and ideas that move this craft forward. Education, mentorship, and responsible service promoted by the USBG are values we all share, and they form the backbone of what this new professional group represents.

As the Guild takes its first steps on Long Island, it’s a reminder that craftsmanship doesn’t start behind a commercial bar — it starts at home. Every shaker, strainer, and pour builds the same habits of care and precision that define the professionals in the industry. Whether you’re mixing for friends or refining your photography setup, the tools you use matter.
Below are a few Wolfsden-approved essentials to help you raise your craft responsibly, confidently, and with the same spirit of excellence that drives this entire community. I use these tools at the Wolfsden, and I highly recommend them to you as well. If you do buy any of the gear I present to you, I will earn an affiliate commission at NO extra cost to you. This is one way that you can help support the mission of the Wolfsden.

🐺 Welcome back to The Wolfsden Dispatch, where cocktails meet cameras — and where I believe every home bar ought to be stocked with the same care and quality as any proper shop. In this issue, I am shifting focus to community, and how my efforts can help strengthen the craft beyond my own home bar. With the United States Bartenders’ Guild now officially established on Long Island, The Wolfsden is stepping forward to support the same values that define the Guild’s mission—education, mentorship, and professional respect for the craft. While the Guild itself is a nonprofit organization with its own leadership and purpose, we all share a common goal: to celebrate the art of bartending responsibly and elevate the standards of the hospitality industry across our region.

🐺 This Week’s Shoutout: The MoonFish Brewery

This week’s shoutout goes to the MoonFish Brewery! Here at The Wolfsden, we’re proud to spotlight MoonFish Brewery in Riverhead as the very first official Guildhouse for our USBG-Long Island community. Located at 221 East Main Street, Riverhead, NY, this unique brewery/restaraunt brings waterfront ambiance, fresh energy, and a spirit of collaboration to our craft. The MoonFish is where I tend bar every Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, pouring exceptional drafts and mixing crafted cocktails for terrific crowds.
The MoonFish offers a welcoming space where hospitality professionals, creatives, and cocktail enthusiasts can gather — bridging the gap between home-bar hobbyists and industry pros. With its riverside setting along the Peconic River and a full kitchen plus rotating craft taps, it’s a space perfected for conversation, learning, and sharing ideas.
As the FIRST Long Island Guildhouse, it symbolizes our commitment to raise the bar — not only in what we serve, but how we serve it.
MoonFish Brewery is more than a venue — it’s a signal of growth for Long Island’s hospitality community, and we’re proud to see it leading the way. Thank you to Rich, Rob, and Skye (the owners) for supporting USBG and the community at large!
